Flynn from Tangled was going to be huge and Stabbington-sized, in comparison to Rapunzel, to make the relationship seem “accepting”, so Rapunzel would seem less shallow.

As if to teach a lesson that not ALL 16th century urchin thieves (half the populace) were rapists and murderers; general scary mean guys, despite their intimidating looks.

Then, to appeal more to the target audience of female teens and little girls, they made him Prince Charming with a personality, so you know he’s ‘good and pretty’, and there wouldn’t be a societal issue in pairing a 25+ year old ex-con with someone the size of a 14 year old.

The panel of women who decided what makes a man attractive had the ideal of a man who looks like this, with a constant Dreamworks face, thus the ‘handsome’ Flynn was born, and the lovable giant Bastion was scrapped.

Unpopular opinion = I kinda would’ve rather seen Bastion than Flynn. I mean, Flynn was okay buuuuuut….

I don’t particularly care to rehash all of the garbage he spewed on Twitter yesterday, but I wanted to briefly showcase some of the most disturbing messages that Tumblr politics tag editor Alexander Ryking posted on a public forum last night. I just have one question: is this mature, professional behavior? Is this the type of person you want curating your tag content, Tumblr? Reblog if your answer is a resounding NO.

In order, here’s just what we’ve got in the screencap—he says similar things on his personal Tumblr all the time, but I thought it was important to point out that his troubled behavior is now spilling over to other media:

• calling women morons, feminazis and cunts
• equating the denial of “misandry” (a concept that is overwhelmingly rejected by everyone who understands gender politics) to denying scientific consensus
• stating that women who dislike him must have “daddy issues” 
• again with the “daddy issues” thing, which IMO is the most grossly sexist part of this entire tirade
• equating women to dogs
• telling feminists to go die

This isn’t about removing him from the position of editor because of political disagreements; after all, Ryking isn’t a conservative! This is about baseless personal attacks against women specifically (although non-women who disagree with him about “feminazis” have incurred his wrath as well) and for no reason other than they identify as feminists. I cannot stress enough that these attacks take place in an internet culture where being an outspoken, visible woman online will routinely earn you death threats, sexual harassment, and acts of intimidation. Here we have someone completely oblivious to the way his words contribute to that atmosphere, and yet we’re supposed to trust him to edit the official politics tag? How can we believe that this man’s raging misogyny doesn’t spill over into that? It’s absolutely unacceptable.

I can’t believe someone like this is a moderator…

In any case I think you’re best off getting LGBT fiction from your library if your library stocks it, if they order it they’re probably not anti-LGBT and if it’s low-quality then you don’t have to have it haunting your bookshelf forever XD

Uhh Khaos Komix (Especially Alex’s/Tom’s story as well as Charlie’s story and the ongoing arc is good…although some panels are NSFW o__o;) and Anything by Megan Rose Gedris are the go-to guys for that kind of thing. Also they both have links pages that lead to other LGBT comics, which in turn also probably have links leading to LGBT stuff. And also NSFW tags. those are helpful.

(And I would define not porn as something where the sex is not the point. Both of those links have sex oh dear orz)
